Within the BriefYourMarket.com Print Shop tab, you will see three types of print material.
- Direct Mail – These A5 cards can be sent either to your own data or to third-party data, which is provided to you through BriefYourMarket.com by one of the top three data providers in the UK.
- Canvassing Cards – You can bulk order these A5 cards to your office and distribute at your own leisure.
- Letters – These A4 letters can be created and sent in the same way as Direct Mail cards.
Choose the type of communication you wish to create by selecting the Start button.
Please note: Direct Mail and Letters are pay-as-you-go features, so you need to ensure that you have sufficient credit in your system to support your orders.

How to build a Direct Mail/Canvassing Card
The first step is to choose a template for the layout of your card.
You will see four standard pre-set templates within your system, similar to those in this example image.
Please note: If you would like a more bespoke design created, you can speak with our Account Management team to discuss design work. Charges will apply.
Once selected, you can begin to create your card – each section of which is editable.
Hover over it and a box with “Image/Text: Click to Edit” will appear.
Click to edit, and from there, you can change either the text or image –dependent on the section being edited.
To the left of the card template is the Image Library (see below).
This is where images can be uploaded and added to your card. For example, as the main background image.
Once you have chosen a section to edit, simply select the image you want and drag it across into the template.
Dependent on the image size, it may appear oversized or undersized within the template.
The below toolbar will appear above the image you are editing, and by selecting auto-fit, will resize it into the template for you.
If you click on the image again, you will see a serrated line surrounding it with icons in each corner, which will allow further resizing – if needed. When you are satisfied with the placement of the image, select save in the toolbar to continue editing the card.
Continue to edit each section of the card – for both the front and back – in the same way as described above.
When it comes to adding text, there are several font styles for you to choose from.
How to build a Direct Mail Letter
Similar to a Direct Mail card, choose a template for the layout of your letter.
You will see a number of standard pre-set templates within your system, similar to those in this example image.
Please note: If you would like a more bespoke design created, you can speak with our Account Management team to discuss design work. Charges will apply.
Again, you will find an Image Library to the left of the letter template.
This is where images can be uploaded and added to the letter header, middle and footer.
Continue to edit each section of the letter in the same way as detailed above for images and for text.
Don’t forget, whether you are creating a card or letter, you must save each section that you edit before the system will allow you to move on.
Note: If copying and pasting text into either template, paste the text as Plain Text.
If at any point you need to leave the design and return to it later, it is important to save your design using the Save button in the bottom right-hand corner of the editor.
